Timo is a Founding Scientist and Director of RNA Research at Therna Biosciences, where he leads efforts to optimize RNA molecules and develop high-throughput platforms for next-generation RNA therapeutics.
He brings over a decade of experience in RNA chemical and molecular biology, with deep expertise in RNA design, structure–function relationships, and functional regulation. His training includes doctoral research at ETH Zurich on RNA structural motifs, followed by work on inducible RNA switches at Weill Cornell Medicine and RNA regulatory mechanisms at the Arc Institute.
Timo earned his Ph.D. at ETH Zurich, where his research focused on the biological implications of RNA structural motifs, including G-quadruplexes.
